The Institute of Management in Government (IMG), in collaboration with the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), Government of India, conducted a five-day training programme on Direct Trainer Skills (DTS) from 17 to 21 July 2025. A total of 23 participants from across the country attended the programme.

The programme commenced with an inaugural address by Shri K. Jayakumar, Director, IMG. In his speech, he emphasized the critical role of training in delivering effective public services and reaffirmed that training remains the most trusted and sustainable means for bringing about meaningful transformation.

The resource persons for the training included Dr. S. Sajeev, Professor at IMG; Ms. Savitha Sen from DoPT, New Delhi; and Mr. Nagrajappa, former Deputy Director, Government of Karnataka.

DTS is a highly structured programme originally developed by Thames Valley University, United Kingdom. The participants were introduced to a range of training methods and hands-on activities designed to enhance their competencies as effective direct trainers.
