The Institute of Management in Government (IMG), Thiruvananthapuram, conducted a three-day Basic Cybersecurity Awareness training programme from 24th to 26th June 2025 at its main campus. The programme was directed by Shri. Mubashir E, Assistant Professor, IMG, and aimed at equipping participants with essential knowledge and practical strategies to tackle emerging cybersecurity threats in digital governance. The training began with an introduction to cybersecurity by experts from the Kerala Security Audit and Assurance Centre (KSAAC), followed by sessions on core concepts and data protection strategies delivered by specialists from the National Centre for Earth Science Studies (NCESS). The second day focused on cyber hygiene, privacy protection, and proactive cyber defense, with practical insights from professionals associated with CERT-K and Kerala State IT Mission. On the final day, the participants were trained on incident detection and response techniques, along with sessions on cybersecurity laws, regulations, and cyber resilience, fostering an understanding of both the technical and legal frameworks in cybersecurity. The programme concluded with a valedictory function, where participants appreciated the depth and relevance of the sessions. In overall, the programme provided a comprehensive and updated perspective on cybersecurity issues, empowering participants to adopt best practices for safeguarding digital assets and enhancing institutional cyber readiness.
