Centre for Good Governance CGG-K

The Institute of Management in Government (IMG) has established the Centre for Good Governance (CGG-K) as an independent center dedicated to promoting excellence in governance. Through a variety of academic, advisory, and outreach initiatives, CGG-K aims to inspire and embed good governance practices throughout Kerala’s governmental systems.

CGG-K works across several strategic areas:

  • Conducting academic & action research into governance models.
  • Providing advisory & consultancy services to government bodies.
  • Engaging in policy analysis and advocacy to shape better governance frameworks.
  • Developing performance standards and professionalization strategies.
  • Leading change management programs for state departments.
  • Documenting and sharing good governance practices, including studies, reports, and case studies.

📅 Recent Highlights (2022-23)

  1. National Seminar on Good Governance
    Held on  16th and 17th August 2022 at IMG, Thiruvananthapuram in partnership with the Centre for Innovations in Public Systems (CIPS), Hyderabad. Eminent scholars and policy practitioners from central government and different states such as Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Delhi, Bihar, Haryana and Himachal Pradesh actively participated and shone light on flagship programmes in their respective state. The seminar featured 30 distinguished governance projects and practices from eight states—including Kerala.

The two-day seminar was inaugurated by Shri. K.N. Balagopal, Hon. Minister for Finance, Govt of Kerala presided over by Dr. V.P. Joy, Hon. Chief Secretary to Government of Kerala and attended by other dignitaries including Shri K.Jayakumar, Director, IMG and Shri Achalendra Reddy, Director of Centre for Innovations in Public Systems, Hyderabad. Dr. Mini B Nair, Associate Professor and Nodal Officer, Centre for Good Governance, was the seminar coordinator.
