The Cybersecurity Handbook 2026, prepared by the Kerala State IT Mission (KSITM) in association with the Institute of Management in Government (IMG), was formally released on 3 February 2026 at IMG, Thiruvananthapuram. The handbook release was organised as part of the objectives of the SafeTech Campaign, aimed at promoting cybersecurity awareness, safe digital practices, and strengthened cyber resilience across government systems. The publication was released jointly by Ms. Tinku Biswal, IAS, Director General, IMG, and Mr. Sandip Kumar, IAS, Director, KSITM, in the presence of senior officials, faculty members, and cybersecurity professionals, including Mr. Arif Ahammed, Senior Security Officer KSITM, Dr. R Jayasree, Professor & Chair, Programme Committee, IMG, Ms. Pallavi M.A., Incident and Vulnerability Engineer, KSITM, Mr. Rasic A. Azeez, Cybersecurity Engineer, KSITM and Mr. Mubashir E, Assistant Professor, IMG.
The handbook is intended to serve as a practical reference for strengthening cybersecurity awareness and preparedness within government systems. Mr. Sandip Kumar, IAS provided patronage and strategic leadership for the publication. The content development, design, and syllabus framework were led by Mr. Rasic A. Azeez, Cybersecurity Engineer, while technical and academic support was extended by Mr. Mubashir E, Assistant Professor, IMG. Ms. Pallavi M.A., Incident and Vulnerability Engineer, KSITM, contributed to the work through research and academic guidance. Innovation and research oversight were provided by Mr. Sanob KAS, Head of Innovation and Research, KSITM, and technology leadership and strategic support were extended by Mr. Subil, Technology Head, KSITM. Programme and managerial support were given by Mr. Abhilash, Manager – Marketing and Communication Support, KSITM. The programme highlighted the importance of inter-institutional collaboration in addressing emerging cybersecurity challenges and reinforced the shared commitment of KSITM and IMG towards capacity building and secure digital governance.
