IMG has a well-equipped library with more than 20,000 books and a good number of periodicals. Nurtured right from the inception of the institution the library is gradually being developed into one of the main  reference points in the capital city.

There is a handsome collection of books on Management , Public Administration, Development Administration, Governance, Panchayati Raj, Rural Development, Computer Science, Gender, Philosophy, Sociology and other Social Sciences.  In addition to this, there are important titles under Constitution and Law, Education, History, Culture, Biography, Political Science, Communication, Psychology, Journalism and Fiction.  More than 2,000  Malayalam Books on a variety of subjects are also available here.

The Reference Section has more than 1000 books including recent additions.  Faculty Members, researchers, academics, students preparing for Civil Service Examinations and the participants in various training programmes profusely use the facilities here.  We also  subscribe to  all the daily newspapers available in the capital city.

The Economist, National Geographic, RBI Bulletin, All India Services, Law Journal, Yojana, Economic & Political Weekly, Kerala Law Times, Down to Earth, Environment and Development, Harward Business Review, Kurukshetra, Monthly Commentary on Indian Economic Conditions, Monthly Public Opinion Surveys, Indian Association of Social Science Institutions Quarterly Indian Journal on Public Administration (Quarterly), Indian Journal on Training and Development (Quarterly) are also subscribed and displayed for reading and reference purposes.

News Week, India Today, Outlook, Time, The Week, Femina, Frontline,  Readers’ Digest, Competition SuccessReview are the English Periodicals regularly subscribed.

India Today (Malayalam), Kerala Kaumudi, Kerala Sabdam, Malayalam, Malayala Manorama,  Mathrubhoomi, Vanitha, Kumkumam, Aayurarogyam, Manorama Aarogyam, Mathrubhoomi Aarogya Masika adorn the Malayalam periodical section.  


Those outside IMG can obtain membership by  remitting Rs.3,000  as Security Deposit and subscription charge of Rs.750 quarterly or Rs.3000 annually.  Two books will be issued  at a time. Outside subscribers are allowed to keep the books for a period of one month. However this can be renewed for a further period of one month  by requesting through telephone.
